A Dream Across Time by Annie Rogers

Jamie Elliott’s romantic mystery begins when she arrives on the lush Caribbean island of St. Lucia. Swept up in island undercurrents, powerful across the centuries, her recurring dreams echo a 200 year-old secret.

Jamie grapples with a cheating husband and her own attraction to Andre Demontagne, son of a powerful island family. Abandoned by her husband, the temptation of Andre is almost more than she can bear, but she will not cast aside her values by seeking solace with him.

When her mother dies suddenly, Jamie finds herself alone in the world. Her mother has bequeathed her a mysterious child’s cross and prayer book which Jamie has never seen before. A letter from her mother alludes to the importance of these objects. Little does Jamie realize the impact these precious relics will have on the Demontage family, especially Clarisse, the matriarch, and on Bertille and Marcus Deroche, descendants of slaves who know the secret.

Jamie is tempted to flee back to the States but St. Lucia and the people she has come to know have always seemed strangely familiar. She is drawn to Bertille and Marcus Deroche and cannot escape her attraction to Andre. Tempted and fearful she does not turn and run, but plays out her destiny with the compelling forces which surround her.

In doing so Jamie comes to terms with loss and love as she discovers who she is against swirling psychic forces and long guarded island secrets.

The Demontagne saga from A Dream Across Time continues.

Jamie Demontagne has it all. The family lives in a fairytale compound high above the seacoast of the  tropical island of St. Lucia. She has found the love of her life in Andre Demontagne, has three darling children and  a flourishing career.

But like women who struggle with “having it all” she faces loss as her career, her husband’s career and the intensity of her children threaten the future of her marriage.

Her two young daughters are beautiful and precocious in different ways. One hides her talents behind her penchant for trouble and bad judgement. The other wrestles with extraordinary paranormal abilities.

But, Jamie’s son, in particular, is deeply troubled and she fears she will lose him as events from two hundred years ago conspire to destroy his world. The salvation of the boy appears to lie with the adept intervention of a woman steeped in island traditions as well as the talents of her daughters. The final battle for her son is joined at night on an island beach where the women and children come together in a ritual involving the pet boa of her youngest daughter. Only then can they break the hold of forces from the distant past.
